The Best Transition Piece to Have For Spring

I've had this Original Penguin trench coat for forever and a day...it's the best piece to wear while we step into Spring. I love the almost art-deco design on it, too.
Trench coats like this are my favorite types of transitional pieces. As you can see in this post. Whether it's a fun print or a classic solid, I think it's a key item every woman should have in her closet. Come rain or shine, it's easy to throw on over any outfit for a pulled together & polished look.
While this one is no longer available, below my photos are a few great coats I'm loving now.

On The Scene

I have noticed that wearable art comes in many forms with Spring's new arrivals.
The prints are definitely bold, yet not as bold (to me at least) as the overalls or crop top trend....eeek. Nonetheless, this Spring is no place to be a wallflower, darling!
I think the most versatile piece is the C.Wonder full skirt. I can picture it dressed up with a silk blouse and heels or dressed down with these Jacks and this striped t-shirt.

From derby scenes to cityscapes, here are a few of my favorite takes on the trend.

What do you think? Will you be a scene queen this Spring?

Modern Fringe

I love a 1920's flapper fashion, Jazz Age, Gatsby-era inspired look. This spring-ready top from Ann Taylor reminds me of something that would be from the roaring 20's; full of fringe and fun.
For a modern take on the look, I paired the top with my favorite sparkly J.Crew baubles (my wedding earrings!) and the most comfortable drapey crepe ankle pants. Another new favorite in my spring wardrobe is this blue and white striped trench coat. It is pure Target gold. Yes, if I did not know any better I would never guess this coat is from Tar-jay either. It is fully lined with a bright pop of yellow and the outside material has an almost tweed-like feel. I highly recommend picking one up to see for yourself....if they're not already sold out!
The monogrammed purse was a gift from my sister to all of her bridesmaids. I love that it can be used with the delicate chain strap or as an envelope clutch.
Links to my outfit & accessories are below!

Adorned with an "H" ...clearly we should move right in.

Spring!

Happy Spring!!
I don't know about you, but I am more than happy to defrost and bid adieu to this past winter! In celebration of Spring, what better than to swoon over these gorgeous new tops and tunics from Devon Baer. The colors remind me of a box of delicious Laduree Macarons, truly.
I need to welcome warmer weather in one of these tops...preferably while enjoying tea and macarons at Laduree in Paris.
The Manhattan location is just a hop, skip and jump away....
Anywhoo...the clothes!

Beautiful pastels and classic silhouettes.
I would like to add all of these to my closet immediately however; if I had to choose just one, I'd say the Picnic Stripe Ruffle Top is perfection. Leave it to me to pick blue and white stripes.
Which is your favorite?

Love Knots

 Happy Wednesday loves!
Warmer temps are slowly but surely sneaking their way back to Southern New England. When it reaches 50 degrees it's practically a pre-spring heat wave here.
Desperate for spring/summer, I broke out the espadrilles this past weekend and tried a pair of boyfriend jeans. If you have a favorite pair of boyfriend jeans, let me know! This was my first time ever wearing the trend so I went low cost and tried a pair of Old Navy cropped boyfriend jeans. While I was there I found this sweater for $12! YES. Such a steal with nautical flair to boot. Perfect for cool summer nights. (online for $15)
My husband and I soaked up some Saturday sunshine with our French Bulldog, Baxter. We walked him around the beach a bit and took him to where some of our wedding photos were taken. It looks completely different in March than it does in late July but is still one of my favorite places.
Links to my outfit are below including Baxter's nautical rope leash!

Lilly's Mermaids Make A Splash

"...laying low with our toes in the sea.
I'll be your mermaid, I'll be your sea queen..."
- First Kiss - The Aquadolls-

I am in love with the new Lilly Pulitzer print, Nice Tail!
How great are these mermaids?!
So far, Nice Tail comes in two styles. Both dresses below are adorable but I'm hoping to see this print on more...a Murfee Scarf perhaps?
Summer come soon!!

Ocean Blue Baubles

Ocean Blue Baubles
When it comes to bold statement jewelry I always lean towards anything turquoise, cobalt, aqua...ok, any & all shades of blue. I tend to only wear one piece at a time but I love what a unique bauble can do for an outfit. If I'm feeling uninspired by what's in my closet, statement jewelry can save the day...especially if it reminds me of the ocean :)

Garden Party

Garden Party

Floral Dress
Flower Crown
Pink Posh Wellies
Scenic Umbrella
Bee Earrings
Kate Spade New York Idiom Bracelet: Stop & Smell The Roses
Ted Baker London Floral Clutch

A gloomy, rainy Wednesday calls for a garden party, or at least the chance to wear one!
Silver lining- those rain drops are melting down the snow...I'm ignoring the fact that there is a chance for snow here tomorrow. March showers bring April flowers perhaps? Fingers crossed.
