Gold Rush

Gold Rush

Foiled, metallic, bronzed, sequined or sparkled- It's no secret that gold is everywhere. Not just for the holidays either, I love that gold easily works in every season. From a sequin sleeve parka to metallic rinse jeans I can't get enough and hope it doesn't fade to silver any time soon. While perusing Nordstrom, I came across this glorious gold cable knit sweater...here it is along with all the other golden flecks that are catching my eye lately.
*Also found these two gold sweaters on Piperlime...each under $100: Sabine Foiled Pullover Numph Metalic Pullover

Stocking Stuffers for the Mr&Mrs&Pup!

Still working on your Christmas shopping?! Me too!! Here are a few of my picks for great stocking stuffers!

For The Mr.
My Husband loves The North Face tech gloves. He can stay warm and toasty during his commute...reading my blog as he waits for the train. (Of course I'm not adding anything that will spoil what's in your stocking this year, dear :) I have a tendency to spill the beans...I get too excited to gift give!!

I don't think you can go wrong with anything by Smather's and Branson. I already gifted the hubs with their Boston Red Sox key fob (joy to the World Series!!!) I also love that you can personalize these gifts.

L.L. Bean's  Wicked Good Slippers. These are so comfy, tried and true. No other slipper compares to these New England made staples.

I honestly want to get the hubs Signature Tartan everything from Brooks Brothers this season. He wore this tie to my sister's wedding this fall and it's a handsome one.

For The Mrs.
Sea-salted hair for The Sea Salted Blonde...how fitting! I've been wanting to try this texturizing spray for a while now. Beachy hair in a bottle during a Connecticut winter? I'll take it!

Speaking of hair...my post-wedding hair chop brings my hair about two inches below my shoulders and I am desperately missing my long locks. I wouldn't mind pulling some faux strands out of my stocking. I haven't seen this in person at H&M but for just $13 this would make a pretty ponytail not to mention a great top-knot. (Available in other shades)

I apologize but I could just not get a clear picture of this nautical Traveler Watch for the life of me but I HAD to include it. Vintage-inspired, nautical & has this blogger's name written all over it. Click the link to see it in all it's prettiness...did I mention it's only $28?!

These small paintings by Elizabeth Mayville are so lovely. I feel like this braid print is of me! She has beautiful work on her etsy shop.

For the Pup
I'm sure Baxter would appreciate this gold dipped Milk Bone on the tree.

Ok, so more for the pet owner. A follow up to Klam's heartwarming memoir You Had Me At Woof. I can't wait to dive into this book!

How adorable is this bow-tie collar?! Baxter will look oh so dapper...
Give your studious pup something to chew on...too cute!

Happy Holiday Shopping Loves!!

Classics With a Talbots Twist: Looks I'm Loving

Curled up by the fire this afternoon, coffee in hand, I was ready to conquer the last of my holiday shopping online...next thing I knew, I was pinning away new arrivals from Talbots. The looks I am loving are too lovely not to share!

Obsessed with all the plaid pieces this season but this black watch plaid jacket may just take the cake. I love how tailored it is...and not without a twist: the pimento red lined collar.
Sparkle&Spots! These are adorable and so fun. I've tried to add bigger leopard pieces to my wardrobe but for me, I really think accessorizing with pops of this print works best.
Another perfect jacket...and with gold buttons. There are a number of color options to choose from in this classic style.
Perfectly preppy and a fab way to step out in plaid this season.
Gorge...and I love the little bit of collar on this faux.
Finishing touch: Leopard and a Bow
This belt is perfection in my book.

Five on Friday: Thanksgiving

I cannot believe it's less than a week until Thanksgiving! This week, this month, this year has flown by! Here are my five:

One: Sweet Potato Soufflé
A few years ago, my Husband's friend Chelsea had a gorgeous cooking blog: Sprinkles of Parsley . She has not blogged in a few years however her recipes remain posted and I truly think she should get back to it! This Sweet Potato Soufflé is out of this world good. I made it the first time she posted her family recipe in 2010 and every year since then. My family members request it and last year I doubled it! Add this to your table for the holidays and check out the rest of her recipes while you're there...maybe we can get her to start blogging again!

Two: The root of joy...
I am so incredibly grateful to be celebrating our first married Thanksgiving with my Husband, D!

I love celebrating the holidays with our families. I come from a pretty big extended family as my parents are each one of 5. The holidays have always been a full house and so much fun!
Someday D and I will host the holidays but for now he and I make it a point to split the day between our families. It's a lot, and sometimes we huff and puff about how hectic it is but, reality check- we are so fortunate to have our families, to have families that for the most part live in the same state not to mention within driving distance of one another. We are blessed to be surrounded by our loved ones and because of our marriage earlier this year our families have united & grown...we have so much more to celebrate. And for that, I am truly so grateful. #heartoverflowing

Three: Thanksgiving Décor
I can't get enough of these adorable hosting/decorating ideas from Emily at Cupcakes and Cashmere. I read that she is coming out with a home décor and entertaining book in 2015...if this is just a preview of what's to come, I can't wait!

I'll count this as Four and Five: Hostess Gifts
Since I do not host the holidays yet (I truly cannot wait for the day I do!), I love to bring a little something to the door.

monogram wine stopper & their favorite vino might just be the perfect pair! C.Wonder has great gifts!

I love this personalized pillow as a gift I found on Etsy. Especially if your hostess has just moved into a new home!

I had no idea that Pottery Barn sold live plants but I love this red amaryllis plant as a gift. So pretty!

If you know their scent-style or if you want to share your favorite these Voluspa candles from Anthropologie are the best. Every time I walk into an Anthro store I want my house to smell just like it, the stacks of Voluspa candles must be their secret.

Have a fantastic weekend full of Thanksgiving-day-prep and love!
